Others are making their spaces better and blogging about it. I can do the same!
My new YouTube video shows how to refinish a tub with epoxy paint!
Deadbolts with keys on both sides don't meet code anymore, but attractive replacements are hard to find. Everything I see is so huge--do any of you retro rehabbers out there have the small early-sixties type or know a source for an exact match?
I wish I had a "before" picture of the hallway carpet!
This high quality carpet was not installed correctly and made the hallway of our executive ranch look bad. A visit from a professional with the right tools and presto, forty feet of gracious hallway goodness. Cost: $125--a pretty good deal, I think. Word from the carpet guy is that if somebody ever shows up to install carpet in your forty-foot hallway but doesn't have a "Z" stretcher, you should immediately kick him to the curb. Probably good advice.
There's not much by way of information/images/before-and-after stories on renovating Executive Ranch homes from the 1960s. This site aims to help with that.
This isn't my kitchen, it's from another ranch house waiting for some love. What would you do with this space on a shoestring budget?
